The money is in “The List”

Yes, all the hyper internet marketers will tell you this. So it must be true, and the direct marketers association will tell you after 6 messages your email prospect is 40% more likely to buy from you.

For your blog, if you have or plan to have a product to sell, you need to capture the information from your readers. It’s essential. There’s money in that thar list… although I prefer to think of them as potential customers in that list rather than ££££.

If you are new to this I suggest you use Aweber or MailChimp to capture the data, and to send out your useful information. Aweber is low cost starting at $19 a month and Mailchimp is free until you have a certain number on your list.

Aweber have a lightbox plugin that is extremely effective at data capture from your readers, but right now, that may be a bit more advanced for us beginners. The Alternative is to use the Aweber sidebar plugin, it’s plugtastic :-)

MailChimp also have a simple sidebar plugin that you can use – MailChimp Plugin that will make it very simple to collect interested parties email addresses for you to send them lovely, useful tidbits of information.

You have no excuse, ok, only one excuse now not to grow your own potential customer list…. and that is if you have no intention of using it, that you have customers coming out of your ears and your fave phrase that occurs in every conversation is “recession? What recession?” ;-)

Let us know how you get on with it

Sarah

PS please note no affiliate links have been used in this post, in case I harmed them ;-)
