Now this is a little plugin that has escaped my notice so far, but one that Sarah spotted ages ago as being useful as she’d installed it on a few collaborative blogs we work on.
The Count per Day plugin sits quietly in your Dashboard and provides you with a wealth of immediately accessible information:
- Total visitors
- Visitors per month
- Browsers
- Visitors per day
- Reads per day
- Visitors per post
- Latest counts (20 most visited posts in last 7 days)
It’s great for offering you an immediate snapshot of topics, titles and styles that attract visitors.

Aha, I love it when I slip one under the radar
With the WP Stats, if you have a high traffic day you miss some of the pages viewed as the stats only show the top 8 or top 10 pages viewed, with the most views.
I found this plugin useful as I didn't have to run over to Google Analytics to see every little detail, and quite a few I didn't want to see. It was the middle ground for me.

You could also use Woopra
Indeed – another to test out, I think. I just like the simplicity of the Count per Day, Ellis – and being easily pleased…
Thanks for that though, will give it a play
Hi,
WP-Stats-Dashboard is probably a plugin that has escape your attention also; http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/wp-stats-dashboard/screenshots/
Check it out. A wealth of social metrics information
Cheers.
This looks like an awesome little plugin, I must give it a whirl. Some concise on board reporting of useful statics is most welcome. I'll let you know how I make out.
Thanks for pointing it out.
You're welcome, Joella. I cannot believe I'd not noticed it before – Sarah loaded this on other blogs we work on ages ago – I'd just not clicked the link – but do like the ease of these stats now, so popping it onto more…
And do let us know how you get on with it, too.
This is why it's great working together, Sarah – if there were a dozen of us (can you imagine!) we'd find a dozen ways of doing just about anything.
