WordPress Backup: replacing EZPZ OCB plugin

April 25, 2012 by Babs 1 Comment

Just a quick post for those of you who use what was the wonderfully efficient EZPZ One Click Backup plugin. Having only yesterday installed this for someone, today I find that it’s behaving a little oddly, suggesting the next scheduled backup will be in 1970.

Not good. On checking to see if there is a newer version available, we found the plugin is no longer listed at WordPress. Definitely not good.

Time to deactivate and remove that plugin –  just in case something is going on that could affect your WordPress website and/or blog.

For now we will replace this with BackUpWordPress and also test out some of the others that are well used, regarded and with workable support available.

If you’re not sure what backup system your WordPress is using, we can take a look if you like – send over an admin level login to hello@blogmistress.com. Or you can make use of the May MOT service, available from next week.

Thanks for the update! I thought I was going mad when I couldn’t find the EZPC backup plugin (which worked really well). Shame to see it go but your suggested replacement looks pretty simple – quick too! I particularly like the scheduling feature. I really appreciate the tip. :O)
